Matthew entered the MTC on May 20, 2009. He was one of the last missionaries to be able to enter with his family -- just two weeks later the MTC changed to a curb-side drop off because of the Swine Flu outbreak. One of the first things they told him when he arrived was there would be no hand shaking in the MTC. I think as a family we were glad to be able say our good-byes in the MTC. No matter what ... it is a HARD day! Saying good-bye to a son for two years is a hard thing to do no matter where you do it!! We love you Matthew and are grateful for your decision to serve the Lord! We will miss you but wouldn't want you any other place! I know you will grow to love the people of Puerto Rico and they will LOVE you!!! We are sooooo excited to hear from you!
